Our successful efforts include: - Coordinating the International Society for Technology in Education's 2009 Storm the Hill Day, which brought more than 500 advocates to Capitol Hill in support of education technology funding and the E-Rate.
- Successfully negotiating and securing $650 million in new funding for education technology through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
- Serving as Co-Chair for the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training's 2009 Bytes & Books Presidential Inaugural Ball.
- Developing and securing the introduction and passage of Internet safety education language in 2008, that mandates that all schools receiving E-Rate must educate students regarding appropriate behavior on social networking and chat room sites and about cyber-bullying.
- Authoring a 2007 report, commissioned by the Education and Libraries Networks Coalition and the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training, on how the E-Rate program has benefited communities nationwide over its first 10 years.
- Coordinating the Future of the E-Rate Summit in 2007.
- Successfully advocating before the Federal Communications Commission that the E-Rate program's performance should be measured based on bandwidth levels rather than student achievement.
- Successfully lobbying for the enactment of four separate one-year exemptions for the E-Rate program from the Anti Deficiency Act.
- Developing and securing the introduction of the ATTAIN Act, a bill to revamp No Child Left Behind's current education technology program, in the US House of Representatives and the US Senate.
- Coordinating successful Capitol Hill briefings for NetDay/Project Tomorrow to release its SpeakUp 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 survey data.
- Managing the development and implementation of the EdTech Action Network, a 16,000+ person strong grassroots network that has delivered tens of thousands of emails to Congress in support of federal education technology funding and the E-Rate.
